Chess is a board game that has been played for centuries, and its origins can be traced back to ancient India. The game was originally called "chaturanga" and was played by four players, each controlling an army of different types of pieces.

CHATURANGA 👇

Chaturanga spread to Persia, where the game's name was changed to "shatranj" and then to the Islamic world and Europe, where it evolved into the modern game of chess we know today.

The earliest known mention of the game is in a Persian romance from the 6th century, and it is believed to have been introduced to India by Persian traders. In India, the game was used to teach strategy and was played by members of the nobility 🤑

From India, the game spread to Persia, where it became a popular pastime of the courtly elite. The Persians modified the game, adding new pieces and rules, and it was from Persia that the game was introduced to the Islamic world.

In the Islamic world, chess became a popular pastime, and it was played by scholars, merchants, and members of the ruling class. The game spread to Europe through trade and cultural exchange, and it became especially popular in medieval Europe.

In Europe, the game was further modified, and the modern rules of chess were established. Modern chess pieces, such as the queen and the bishop, were added in the 15th century, and the game's rules were standardized in the 19th century ♟️

Today, chess is played all over the world and is recognized as a game of strategy and skill. It has a rich history and cultural significance, and it continues to be enjoyed by millions of people of all ages and backgrounds.
